Why I'm Building L8EntSpace in Public (And What That Actually Means)

SYS_RENDER_OK|NODE_1856

I'm a solo founder building a GEO platform out in the open — sharing the experiments, the wins, and the things that don't work. Here's why I decided to do it this way, and what you can expect from this blog.

Let Me Start With Something Honest

Most company blogs are written to make the company look finished. Polished case studies. Big round numbers. The impression that everything was planned and everything works.

That's not how building a product actually feels. It's messy. You try things that fail. You change direction. You spend weeks on something nobody needed.

I've decided to do the opposite of the polished-blog thing. I'm building L8EntSpace in public — sharing the real journey, including the parts that don't make a tidy story.

This post explains what that means and why I think it's the right call.

What "Building in Public" Actually Means

It's a simple idea: instead of hiding the work until it's perfect, you share it as you go.

For L8EntSpace, that means three things:

I'll show you the experiments. We run real tests on what makes AI engines like ChatGPT and Gemini cite a brand. When a test works, I'll tell you. When it doesn't, I'll tell you that too — a result that says "this doesn't matter" is just as useful as one that says it does.

I'll explain the decisions. Why we built a feature a certain way. Why we dropped an idea. What we learned. The reasoning, not just the outcome.

I won't oversell. If a feature isn't built yet, I'll say "we're building it" or I won't mention it. If I don't have data to back up a claim, I won't make the claim. That sounds obvious, but a surprising amount of marketing breaks this rule.

Why I'm Doing It This Way

Because trust is the whole game

L8EntSpace helps brands get recognised by AI. That only works if people trust what we say. I can't ask you to trust the product while hiding how it's made. Building in public is me showing my working.

Because I'm one person

I'm a solo founder. I don't have a marketing department writing careful press releases. What I have is a real point of view and real experiments. Sharing them honestly is the most useful thing I can offer — and frankly, the only thing I have time to do.

Because the field is brand new

Generative Engine Optimization — getting cited by AI instead of ranking on Google — is only a couple of years old. Nobody has it fully figured out, including me. The honest thing is to explore it openly and bring you along, rather than pretend I have all the answers.

What You Can Expect From This Blog

Going forward, you'll see a few kinds of posts:

  • Plain-English explainers — short pieces that explain a GEO idea simply, no jargon, for anyone trying to understand this shift.
  • Lab experiments — real tests with real results from our GEO Lab, including the ones that flop.
  • Feature updates — honest write-ups of what we've built and how it works.
  • Founder notes — like this one. The thinking, the direction, the lessons.

There's also a YouTube channel coming, where I'll show some of this work on camera. More on that soon.

Key Takeaways

  • L8EntSpace is being built in public by a solo founder — the experiments, decisions, and lessons are all shared openly.
  • We only claim what the product actually does. No invented statistics, no features that don't exist.
  • Expect plain-English explainers, real lab experiments (including null results), feature updates, and founder notes.
  • The goal is simple: earn trust by showing the work, not hiding it.

Come Along

If you're trying to figure out how to stay visible as search moves from Google to AI, this is the place to follow along. You'll see what works as we discover it.

The best way to start is to run a Citation Probe on your own brand — it shows you how the four big AI engines currently talk about you. That's usually the moment this stops being abstract and starts being personal.
